About The Position
This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a Medical-Surgical unit in Atlanta, GA. The role involves providing direct patient care on a medical-surgical admission unit with rapid bed turnover. The contract is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/08/2026. The position offers guaranteed hours and a structured schedule.
Requirements
- Active RN license with Nursys license verification
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently in a fast-paced, high-turnover admission unit
- Capacity to work the specified shift (2x3 days) with guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Willingness to complete required onboarding elements: skills checklist, references, and certification card
- Comfortable supporting a unit with patient ratios around 5–6:1 on the Med/Surg floor
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for general medical and surgical patients on a rapid admission unit.
- Monitor vital signs, assess patient status, and administer medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and communicate clearly with patients and families.
- Prepare patients for admission and assist with discharge planning and care transitions.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record; maintain accurate and timely charting.
- Uphold patient safety, infection control practices, and respond to clinical changes or emergencies as needed.
