Requirements

Active New York State Registered Nurse license
BLS and ACLS certifications
NIH Stroke Certification required prior to start
Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
Strong IV skills, ability to read EKG strips, and wound care proficiency
Flu vaccine or declination accepted
Ability to work in a hospital setting
Willing to float to MS/Telemetry as needed

Nice To Haves

Travel experience preferred
Paragon EMR charting experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct, professional nursing care for Med Surg and Telemetry patients, including ongoing assessment, care planning, and documentation
Monitor telemetry, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond to rhythm changes; administer and titrate cardiac medications and IV drips per protocol
Perform IV therapy, wound care, and routine treatments; manage access lines and ensure patient safety
Float to step-down units as needed; collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and other members of the care team
Maintain accurate charting in the assigned EMR system and ensure timely communication of patient status to the care team
Participate in code response, adhere to BLS/ACLS protocols, and support NIH Stroke approach as required
