About The Position

This is a temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical Telemetry in Morrisville, Vermont. The role is based in a hospital setting and is for a 13-week contract duration. The position requires delivering age-specific, direct patient care, assessing and implementing patient care plans, administering medications, monitoring patient responses, and documenting care accurately. The nurse will also communicate with the interprofessional team, participate in rounding and care coordination, assume leadership responsibilities, delegate tasks, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and support discharge planning and patient education.

Requirements

ACLS, BLS, PALS (or ENPC) and de-escalation training must be active prior to contract start date (or booked at Clinical Orientation if not current).
Ability to provide age-specific direct patient care in a hospital Med Surg Tele setting.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Adaptability to a fast-paced hospital environment and adherence to unit policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Deliver age-specific, direct patient care using the Nursing Process within the framework of professional standards.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; administer medications and treatments; monitor patient responses.
Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the interprofessional team; participate in rounding and care coordination.
Assume leadership responsibilities and delegate appropriate tasks to other staff while maintaining patient safety.
Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and nursing standards of care; support discharge planning and patient/family education.
