About The Position

This is a travel temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical Telemetry in Potsdam, NY. The assignment starts on 09/14/2026 and runs for Weeks. The role is in a hospital setting on a PCU/MedSurg Tele unit that holds a Certified Stroke Center designation. EPIC charting is required. The position involves monitoring cardiac telemetry, managing dysrhythmias, and providing care for diverse patient populations. Responsibilities include initiating and managing IV therapy, utilizing non-invasive airway support, performing various care procedures like chest tube and tracheostomy care, wound care, and PCA administration. The nurse will also participate in seizure management, isolation precautions, and stroke protocol adherence.

Requirements

• NY RN license in good standing (in hand to submit)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year RN experience
• PCU/tele or med-surg experience preferred
• EPIC experience required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced PCU/Tele/Med-Surg environment
• Willingness to float to sister units West 2, West 3, and Observation

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and manage dysrhythmias; provide post-MI and acute cardiac care as appropriate
• Deliver care for diverse patient populations including cardiac, respiratory, infectious diseases (e.g., COVID), pre/post-op, endocrine, and CVA
• Initiate and manage IV therapy, PICC/peripheral lines, blood products, and heparin/insulin protocols
• Utilize non-invasive airway support (HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP) and assist with airway management as needed
• Perform chest tube and tracheostomy care; wound care including Wound VAC; PCA administration
• Participate in seizure management, isolation precautions, and stroke protocol adherence
