About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit in Ida Grove, Iowa. The assignment is temporary, lasting 13 weeks, and involves providing direct patient care in a hospital setting. The role focuses on adults requiring medical-surgical care with telemetry monitoring.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in Iowa (or as otherwise required for practice in the assignment).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nursing degree from an accredited program (ADN or BSN acceptable).
Med Surg Tele experience preferred; ability to manage a diverse patient load in a hospital setting.
Availability to work nights with a weekend rotation, including a schedule of two weekends on and one weekend off (Friday–Sunday) as part of the assignment.
Ability to work in a hospital environment, follow clinical protocols, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to adults in a medical-surgical telemetry unit, including assessment, monitoring, and ongoing evaluation.
Administer prescribed medications and therapies; manage IV lines and necessary infusions; monitor vital signs and telemetry as indicated.
Perform accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, including assessments, treatments, and patient education.
Collaborate with the health care team (nurses, physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff) to develop and adjust care plans.
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition; implement safety protocols and escalation procedures as needed.
Support discharge planning and patient/family education to promote understanding of conditions, medications, and follow-up care.
