About The Position

This travel RN role supports a Med/Surg Tele unit on a temporary assignment. The position requires adapting to unit needs, including potential ED Hold coverage, while delivering bedside care, documentation, and coordination with the care team.

Requirements

Active New York RN license (or proof of application with applied date)
BLS certification required; NIHSS will be required prior to starting
EPIC experience within the past 2 years
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience

Nice To Haves

1 year of experience in Med/Surg Telemetry is preferred
CMSRN certification preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care on the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit, with telemetry monitoring and early recognition of patient condition changes
Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders; perform routine procedures and assist with central line or peripheral access as permitted
Conduct ongoing assessments, manage patient symptoms, and implement care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
Assist with documentation in the EPIC electronic medical record; ensure accurate and timely charting and data entry
Support ED Hold coverage and float to other tele units as needed, contributing to patient flow and unit efficiency
Participate in discharge planning, patient education, and coordination with ancillary staff (CNA/PCT, unit clerks) to optimize patient care
