About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse assignment for a Med Surg Tele position in Zanesville, OH. The role focuses on providing direct nursing care for adult patients on a cardiac step-down unit and telemetry Med Surg population. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/21/2026. The position involves working night shifts (7:00 pm–7:30 am) with 36 guaranteed hours per week in a high-acuity care setting using Epic EMR. Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac rhythms, administering IV medications, managing heart cath recovery and post-open-heart care, and collaborating with the healthcare team.

Requirements

Current Ohio RN license
BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 3 years cardiac step-down experience, including heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, and post-op open-heart care
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Ability to float to other units as needed; comfortable caring for ventilated patients if required
Willingness to work night shifts and adhere to unit staffing needs

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care for adult patients on a cardiac step-down unit and telemetry Med Surg population.
Monitor cardiac rhythms, administer IV medications and drips, and execute post-operative orders for open-heart patients; respond promptly to clinical changes.
Collaborate with physicians, unit leadership, and case management; document care accurately in Epic EMR.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; monitor vitals, labs, and imaging; assist with discharge planning as appropriate.
Maintain patient safety and infection control standards; support the care team during fluctuating census; may float to other units as needed and, on rare occasions, care for ventilated patients.
