About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery (L&D) located in Roswell, New Mexico. The role involves working in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) unit on night shifts, with a schedule of 3x12. The assignment begins on 09/14/2026 and is for a duration of weeks. This temporary assignment is suitable for first-time travelers and requires placement in a hospital setting.

Requirements

  • Current RN license to practice in New Mexico; NM/Compact licensure accepted if obtained prior to start
  • BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Ability to work nights in an LDRP unit and float to like units as needed
  • Travel-specific requirements: fingerprints/background checks; locals not accepted within 50 miles; pre-approved time off (RTO) listed at submittal; max 4 days RTO auto-approved

  • Charge experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for obstetric patients across the LDRP continuum (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum)
  • Support vaginal deliveries and cesarean-related recovery per unit guidelines; manage couplet care for mother and newborn
  • Perform newborn assessments, thermoregulation monitoring, and initial management of hypoglycemia; assist with phototherapy as needed
  • Deliver breastfeeding and lactation support; assist with circumcision, episiotomy/incision care, and infant identification
  • Triage obstetric patients, monitor maternal/fetal status, and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services); participate in Rapid Response when required
  • Document care in Epic; may float to similar units within scope as needed
