About The Position
This travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) in Lewistown, Montana, United States, starts on 09/28/2026 and runs for 13 weeks with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. The role takes place in a rural, critical access care setting and focuses on comprehensive obstetric nursing across the Labor & Delivery and obstetrics continuum.
Requirements
- Active Montana RN license (current)
- Certification: NRP and BLS required
- Experience in Labor & Delivery (must have)
- Ability to provide professional, evidence-based care in a Labor & Delivery setting
- Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills
- Comfort in supporting patients and families during labor, birth, and the postpartum period
Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery
- Manage labor progression and assist with deliveries
- Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and coordinate with the obstetric team
- Administer medications and perform cervical exams within scope
- Interpret fetal monitoring strips and interpret clinical findings
- Prepare patients for operative deliveries and provide postpartum education
- Deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered care to support a positive birth experience
