About The Position

This is a travel temporary assignment with a short-term acute care facility for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery (L&D). The role is located in Templeton, California, with a start date of 09/14/2026 and an assignment duration of 13 weeks. The position offers guaranteed hours of 36 per week, with a weekly pay range of $2,739–$2,872. The shift is typically 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), but the role will initially start on the Day Shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) during an internal transition before rotating to nights to fill a vacancy.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in California (state of practice)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Two years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Current BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course
  • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring required
  • EPIC experience required
  • Able to work in a perinatal/L&D setting and handle perinatal emergencies
  • Flexible to rotate shifts during transition

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide nursing care to perinatal patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency management and circulating for C-sections.
  • Supervises and delegates care to ancillary personnel within scope of practice.
  • Initiate and collaborate on multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans; document patient response clearly and timely.
  • Assess fetal well-being, monitor amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding, and maternal status; recognize and manage perinatal emergencies (e.g., crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia).
  • Manage labor analgesia, support alternative pain control when appropriate, and assist with epidural catheter placement with monitoring.
  • Educate patients and families across all stages of perinatal and postpartum care; tailor education to age, culture, and learning readiness.
  • Maintain accurate, legible documentation of nursing care and patient outcomes in the electronic health record.
