About The Position

Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) travel assignment in a hospital setting, Bozeman, MT, US. Start date 09/28/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,471-$2,541 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Rotating. The role requires circulating, floating to Mother Baby and other units as safety, and a collaborative approach to patient and family education.

Requirements

  • Current Montana Registered Nurse license (active)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider, with recertification every 2 years
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series certificate of completion (or equivalent AWHONN-approved course) (Not required if Lactation RN)
  • Fetal Health Monitoring (FHM) recertification every 2 years
  • American Heart Association ACLS (Not required if Lactation RN)
  • Competence in and willingness to practice modified primary nursing
  • Two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education
  • If Lactation RN: Certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC, IBCLC)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care for laboring patients and newborns, including continuous fetal monitoring and documentation.
  • Circulate during delivery; monitor maternal and fetal status; administer medications and interv ent as ordered; respond to obstetric emergencies per protocol.
  • Float to Mother Baby and other units as safety companion per unit needs; support a safe, patient-centered care environment.
  • Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care; facilitate safe discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia, and the broader care team; participate in care planning and performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain nursing accountability per policy, complete required education, and document care promptly and accurately.
