About The Position
This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Geriatric care at a short-term acute care hospital in Sonora, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 08/31/2026, with a shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The role involves providing direct nursing care to adult patients with a focus on geriatric needs within an acute care setting.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Current BLS certification
- At least two years of recent nursing experience
- Ability to work in a hospital setting as a travel RN and to relocate as needed
Nice To Haves
- ACLS preferred
- BSN preferred
- MSN preferred
- Experience or educational background in Skilled Nursing (SNF) or geriatric care is highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with emphasis on geriatric needs in a hospital setting
- Coordinate orientation for new hires and mentor unit preceptors to support a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient-centered care
- Educate patients and families, promote health literacy, and advocate for patient rights
- Develop, deliver, and document clinical education and training using varied teaching methods
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
