About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room, located in Kapaau, Hawaii. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 10/05/2026. The role involves floating between Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department units in a rural, critical access hospital setting. Strong experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system is highly valued. The position offers a weekly pay range of $2,349 to $2,478 and requires working a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, which includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• EPIC EMR experience required or strongly preferred
• Ability to float between Med-Surg and ED settings and adapt to changing patient needs
• Willingness to work a rotating 12-hour schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Commitment to a 13-week travel assignment
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the ER and float between Med-Surg and ED as needed
• Perform initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, triage, and care planning for acutely ill or injured patients
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies per physician orders; monitor for adverse effects
• Document patient care accurately in the EPIC EMR; communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and care transitions
• Respond to emergencies, participate in codes as appropriate, and promote patient and family safety and education
