About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) located in Hilo, Hawaii. The assignment is approximately 13 weeks long and begins on 10/26/2026. The role involves providing emergency nursing care in a high-volume ER setting within a hospital. The department has 28 beds, including trauma bays, behavioral health rooms, and cardiac monitor rooms. Orientation and employee health processing are required prior to the start date.

Requirements

Active Hawaii RN license by start date
Ability to work nights (3x12-hour shifts) and align with orientation schedule
Capacity to work in a fast-paced 28-bed ER with trauma bays and cardiac monitor rooms
Must be able to travel to Hilo, Hawaii for a temporary assignment and complete orientation requirements

Nice To Haves

ER nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver emergency nursing care to adults and pediatrics in a high-volume ER, including triage and initial assessment.
Monitor patient status, administer medications and therapies per orders, start and manage IVs, and operate monitoring equipment.
Respond to rapid changes, including trauma activations and cardiac events, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record; provide thorough handoffs at shift change.
Support patient flow in a fast-paced environment, prepare patients for imaging or procedures, and assist with discharge planning and family education.
