About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse assignment for the Emergency Room (ER) at a Critical Access Hospital in Fairfield, IA. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The role involves providing total patient care using the nursing process, administering medications and treatments, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and maintaining patient records. The position requires the ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts, including every-other weekend and rotating holidays.

Requirements

Current Iowa RN license (active)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required
Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts, including every-other weekend and rotating holidays
Willingness to meet standard travel credentialing and health requirements as part of the onboarding process

Responsibilities

Plan and provide total patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs.
Direct and guide patient teaching and education for patients and families.
Coordinate activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor patient responses and document findings.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality care; participate in handoffs and care planning.
Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient records; ensure safety and adherence to hospital policies and standards.
