About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department located in Utica, New York. The position guarantees 36 hours per week with a shift pattern of 2x3 Days. The role involves delivering direct patient care, managing various patient conditions, operating specific medical equipment, and documenting care in the Epic EMR. The nurse will also support unit operations as a charge RN when assigned and contribute to patient flow and compliance with ED policies. This assignment is arranged through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Requirements

• Active New York RN license; Nursys verification of NY license and all other RN licenses.
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS; NIHSS; TNCC must be in hand.
• At least 2 years of Emergency Department experience; pediatric experience preferred; travel experience required to document prior assignments.
• EPIC EMR experience; ability to document accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced ED environment.
• Valid driver’s license with address that matches demographics; ability to submit RTO (requested time off) at submission.
• Up-to-date resume detailing ED experience and travel assignments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department per established standards, including triage, assessment, planning, interventions, and discharge or transfer.
• Manage care for patients with stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure; operate Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun as required.
• Provide care across the age spectrum (neonatal to geriatric) and float to other ED areas as needed.
• Document care in the Epic EMR; participate in handoffs and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure patient safety and timely treatment.
• Support unit operations as a charge RN when assigned; contribute to patient flow, throughput, and compliance with ED policies.
