About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED) at an acute care setting in Aberdeen, WA. The role involves providing direct patient care, including assessment, triage, stabilization, and monitoring of ED patients. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, administer medications and therapies, and maintain accurate electronic documentation. The position requires prioritizing patient safety, infection control, and quality of care, with potential for charge nurse responsibilities and supporting efficient patient flow. Knowledge of Meditech is helpful but not required. The assignment offers night shifts with the possibility of additional shifts based on unit needs.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Washington state or a multi-state license with verifications, including demographic verification from Nursys
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications; approved 6-hour suicide training
• Emergency Department nursing experience
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• RTO requests must be pre-approved and added to the end of the contract; full availability for scheduling
• Ability to work night shifts and 12-hour shifts; able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for ED patients, including initial assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring
• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments, document findings, and adjust care plans as ordered
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and procedures; monitor for adverse reactions and document outcomes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team; assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned and support efficient patient flow
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the unit’s electronic system
• Prioritize patient safety, infection control, and quality of care while ensuring smooth handoffs to receiving teams
