About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse (RN) position for the Emergency Department (ED) in Philadelphia, PA. The assignment is for a 13-week contract with a start date of 09/13/2026. The role involves providing emergent nursing care in a high-acuity ED setting, including patient assessment, triage, monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with the healthcare team. Accurate documentation in the electronic health record is essential. The position requires the ability to respond to acute deteriorations, support resuscitation efforts, and facilitate patient throughput and discharge planning.

Requirements

Active RN license (state-appropriate) and ability to practice in a high-acuity ED setting
Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
Ability to work a 16-hour Evening/Night shift (3:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and commit to a 13-week travel assignment
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team and maintain accurate documentation

Responsibilities

Provide emergent nursing care in the ED, including initial assessment, triage, and ongoing patient monitoring
Administer medications, start and manage IV lines, and operate monitoring equipment
Perform nursing procedures within scope and collaborate with physicians, NP/PA, and the broader care team
Document care accurately in the electronic health record and communicate changes to the care team
Respond to acute deteriorations with appropriate interventions and support ongoing resuscitation efforts as needed
Facilitate safe patient throughput, discharge planning, and referral coordination
