About The Position
This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at a rural, critical access hospital in Reedley, California. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with guaranteed hours and a night shift schedule. The role requires acute care ER experience and proficiency with EPIC charting.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- BSN preferred
- CPR/BLS required
- Basic Life Support as required by policy
- ACLS and PALS (AHA-ACLS/ARC-ALS and AHA-PALS/ARC-PALS) required
- Minimum two years of recent ER or acute care experience
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- Ability to work in a hospital ER setting on a travel assignment, including night shifts
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to ER patients, including triage, assessment, and ongoing monitoring.
- Develop and implement a patient care plan using established standards and the nursing process.
- Administer medications, interpret clinical data, and respond to changes in patient condition with critical thinking and appropriate interventions.
- Coordinate care with physicians, ancillary staff, and family members to ensure safe, effective treatment and timely discharge planning.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and communicate updates to the care team.
- Supervise and direct nursing staff at various levels when assigned, ensuring patient safety and quality of care.
