About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for the Emergency Room (ER) in Saint Louis, Missouri. It is a temporary assignment starting on 09/08/2026, with a duration of Weeks. The role involves working 3x12 Night shifts, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. The setting is an acute care Emergency Department (ED) with 38 beds, serving all ages, and includes a separate psych area. The ED typically sees around 127 visits daily and is STEMI and Stroke certified. The team is interdisciplinary and utilizes Epic for electronic charting.

Requirements

Active RN license to practice in Missouri (or eligible to obtain).
Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience.
Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted.
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, NIHSS, PALS.
Epic experience for electronic charting.
Ability to work Nights on a 3x12 schedule.
ED setting experience with adult and pediatric patients.
Able to manage a 1:4 patient ratio.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the ED for adult and pediatric patients, including triage, initial assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring.
Perform EKG/12-lead rhythm analysis, establish IV access, administer medications and blood products per protocol, and assist with procedures as needed.
Recognize and manage dysrhythmias; assist with airway management and use of BiPAP/CPAP as applicable.
Support trauma and critical care needs; manage psychiatric patients in the dedicated area; coordinate rapid interventions with the multidisciplinary team.
Document care and care plans accurately in the Epic electronic health record; communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and translation services.
Ensure patient safety, accurate handoffs, and adherence to ED throughput and quality metrics during shift changes.
