About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at a rural, critical access hospital in Reedley, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/21/2026. The role involves delivering coordinated nursing care, collecting and analyzing patient data, developing care plans, supervising nursing staff, and collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare providers. The nurse will also provide health education, ensure accurate documentation in the EPIC EMR, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include responding to emergencies with clinical judgment and appropriate escalation.

Requirements

Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
BLS certification required; CPR/BLS as applicable per policy
ACLS and PALS certifications required (AHA or ARC equivalents)
At least two years of recent ER/acute care experience
EPIC EMR experience required
Ability to work in a fast-paced ER within a rural, critical access hospital setting

Responsibilities

Deliver coordinated nursing care in the ER for an assigned group of patients, following the nursing process and established standards of care
Collect, analyze, and document assessment data; determine diagnoses and care issues; develop and implement an individualized care plan; evaluate progress
Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; delegate tasks and coordinate care with other disciplines
Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure safe, healing, and compassionate care; participate in discharge planning
Provide health education to patients and families; ensure accurate, timely documentation in the EPIC EMR; support a safe and clean environment
Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and performance standards; respond to emergencies with clinical judgment and appropriate escalation
