About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) setting within a hospital environment. The contract is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/07/2026. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care in a high-volume ED, including assessments, medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The nurse may also be required to function as a charge nurse and/or preceptor.

Requirements

Current RN license in Maine required; candidates with licensure hits will not be considered.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience.
At least 1 year of prior critical care nursing experience.
Willingness and ability to serve in charge nurse and preceptor roles if needed.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Ability to work in a high-volume ED setting.
Candidates must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the assignment location.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments in the ED, triage acuity, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in patient status.
Administer IV medications, therapies, and blood products as ordered; manage IV access and fluid therapy per protocol.
Document nursing actions, patient education, teaching, observations, and patient responses in the electronic medical record; ensure accurate handoffs at each transition.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, including diagnostic testing, procedures, and discharge planning.
Provide nursing care across the admission to discharge continuum; function as charge nurse and/or preceptor as needed to support team members and patient flow.
