About The Position

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (ER) in Utica, NY. This travel assignment is in a hospital emergency department setting. Local candidates are eligible for a local rate (within 75 miles).

Requirements

Licenses: Current New York RN license; NURSYS verification of active NY license and all RN licenses; address on license must match demographics; RTO (requested time off) must be included at submission.
Certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC; TNCC must be in hand.
Experience: Minimum 2+ years of ED experience with some pediatric experience; travel experience documented in resume.
EMR: EPIC experience required.
Additional: Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics; floating capability; charge nurse capability is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to ED patients across age groups, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
Perform triage, initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, and rapid escalation of patient conditions as needed.
Administer medications, manage IVs, and assist with procedures commonly performed in the ED; participate in rapid response and code situations.
Document assessments, treatments, and patient education in the EMR (EPIC); ensure accurate and timely charting across shifts.
Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and other team members to coordinate patient care; participate in patient and family education and discharge planning.
Floating to related ED areas as needed; maintain unit readiness and contribute to a high-quality, patient-centered environment.
