About The Position

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) travel assignment in Utica, New York. This assignment is for a 13-week contract with a start date of 09/21/2026. The role involves working 36 guaranteed hours per week on a 12-hour evening shift in a hospital-based Emergency Department. The position requires experience in ED nursing, an active NY licensure, and the ability to manage a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, including floating to related ED areas as needed.

Requirements

Active New York RN license with NURSYS verification
2+ years of ED RN experience; some pediatric exposure preferred
Travel nursing experience required; must document travel history
Certifications: current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
EMR experience required: EPIC
Ability to work in a fast-paced ED setting; float as needed
Must meet the travel-distance requirement: must live 75 miles or more from the facility; locals may be considered at the local rate
Driver's license with address matching demographics
RTO (time off) requests must be included at submission

Responsibilities

Provide direct, high-quality ED nursing care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients in a high-volume ED
Triage, initial assessment, continuous monitoring, and rapid stabilization of patients with diverse diagnoses (e.g., stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, respiratory failure)
Administer medications and interventions per physician orders, including critical drips and scheduled therapies
Perform and document thorough assessments in the electronic medical record (EPIC), communicate effectively with the care team, and assist with diagnostic testing and procedures
Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other staff to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and patient/family education
Float to related ED areas as needed while maintaining unit standards and patient safety
