About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) in Boston, Massachusetts. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/21/2026, with 48 guaranteed hours per week. The role operates in a fast-paced, high-volume ED environment that requires versatile, patient-centered care across a 24/7 operation. The position involves rotating shifts and the possibility of floating to Psych ED and Pedi ED areas, caring for patients aged 15 and older when pediatric experience is limited.

Requirements

Active registered nurse license in Massachusetts
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS (active/unexpired)
Minimum 1.5 years recent Level I or II ED experience or 2+ years recent Level 3/4 ED experience
Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; pass Telemetry Test on Day 1 (85%+)
Flexible 12-hour shift schedule with rotation (e.g., 7 am–7 pm, 11 am–11 pm, or 3 pm–3 am); willingness to float to Psych ED and Pedi ED areas

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care in a high-volume ED, including triage, monitoring, and treatment of acute conditions
Read, interpret, and respond to telemetry rhythm strips; identify rhythm abnormalities and heart blocks
Administer medications, start IVs, assist with procedures, and manage patient safety throughout the continuum of care
Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team; document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
Monitor patient status, anticipate deterioration, provide pain management, and educate patients and families
Float to Psych ED and Pedi ED areas as needed, caring for patients 15 years and older ( pedi experience considered; adapt as required)
