About The Position

This opening is for a travel RN specializing in the Emergency Department. The assignment includes 13 weeks of work with a night shift pattern and a 36-hour per week guaranteed schedule. Requirements

Current New York State RN license
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
MEDITECH EMR experience required
Travel nursing experience required
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Ability to work in a high-intensity ED environment; must demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, and effective communication
Orientation-required certifications: IV therapy, medication administration, and phlebotomy; defibrillation certification within six months of employment; lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including triage, continuous assessment, and prioritization of care.
Administer medications, IV therapies, perform phlebotomy as needed, and monitor patient responses.
Recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations; respond to emergent codes and ensure patient safety.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team; may assume duties as charge nurse when assigned.
Document clinical findings and care using the MEDITECH electronic medical record; ensure accuracy and timely updates.
Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and referrals as appropriate; manage transitions of care.
