About The Position

This opening is for a travel RN specializing in the Emergency Department. The assignment includes 13 weeks of work with a night shift pattern and a 36-hour per week guaranteed schedule. The role requires prior travel experience and ED-specific certifications, with Meditech electronic medical record experience as a key requirement.

Requirements

  • Current New York State RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
  • MEDITECH EMR experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Ability to work in a high-intensity ED environment; must demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, and effective communication
  • Orientation-required certifications: IV therapy, medication administration, and phlebotomy; defibrillation certification within six months of employment; lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including triage, continuous assessment, and prioritization of care.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, perform phlebotomy as needed, and monitor patient responses.
  • Recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations; respond to emergent codes and ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team; may assume duties as charge nurse when assigned.
  • Document clinical findings and care using the MEDITECH electronic medical record; ensure accuracy and timely updates.
  • Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and referrals as appropriate; manage transitions of care.
