About The Position
This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) at a Critical Access Hospital in Reedley, California. The role involves delivering coordinated nursing care using the nursing process, supervising staff, documenting in the EPIC EMR, participating in discharge planning, and providing patient education. The position guarantees 36 hours per week with a shift of 3x12-hour days.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in California (state of practice)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved vendor
- ACLS and PALS certification (AHA/ARC) required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER/acute care experience

Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for ER patients using the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with interdisciplinary team.
- Document comprehensive patient data in the EPIC EMR; provide health information to patients, families, and the treatment team.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care and safe transition from the ER.
- Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of the healthcare team; promote a safe, healing environment.
- Provide patient and family education and support, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives as applicable.
