About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for the Emergency Department (ER) in Utica, New York. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/07/2026, in a hospital-based ED setting. The role operates in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment serving a broad patient mix. Weekly pay ranges from $2,250 to $2,439, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. The shift is Nights on a 2x3 schedule, and floating to other ED areas is required.

Requirements

  • Active NY Registered Nurse license; Nursys license verification required; RTO (restriction of time off) must be included at submission.
  • Certifications in-hand: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (AHA or equivalent) ready to verify.
  • ED experience: minimum 2 years in Emergency Department; pediatric exposure preferred.
  • Travel experience required; EPIC EMR experience a must.
  • Driver’s license with address matching demographics; ability to work in an ED setting.
  • Able to work in a high-acuity environment and adapt to unit needs; documentation of travel history and availability for assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the ED for newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, including initial assessment, triage, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Administer medications and perform IV therapy, including management of critical conditions (stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure) and use of specialty equipment (Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun) as needed.
  • Initiate and assist with emergency protocols, resuscitation, and complex treatments; communicate effectively with physicians, consultants, and the care team to ensure timely disposition.
  • Document all care in the EMR (EPIC) with accuracy; monitor patient status, respond to rapid changes, and coordinate patient flow and bed availability.
  • Floats to other ED areas as required; participate in shift handoffs, patient education, and safety/infection control practices.
  • Uphold high standards of patient advocacy, documentation, and compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
