The Registered Nurse will provide care to adults through geriatric patients in a cardiac telemetry setting. The role includes performing vital-sign and blood-glucose checks, with clinical needs including post-myocardial infarction care, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, peripheral vascular disease, and peritoneal dialysis. The unit has 16 beds and an average daily census of 16, with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. Nurses may float within the facility as needed, within their scope of practice. The number of non-billable orientation hours depends on the contract length. The position requires six weekend shifts per six-week schedule period. Holiday assignments depend on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period. There are no call requirements. RTO is limited to a maximum of seven days, with a blackout during Spring Break (April 4–12). Full compliance is required to start on time; otherwise, the start may be pushed back two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate.
