The Registered Nurse in this role will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individual patients and families within the Endocrinology Team, providing family-focused and evidence-based nursing care. The position is temporary, full-time, and expected to last until September 2027. Requirements

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (Essential)
  • Bilingualism - French and English (Essential)
  • Minimum two years Pediatric experience (Essential)
  • Case Management experience (Essential)
  • Ambulatory Care experience (Essential)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Strong teaching skills (Essential)
  • Demonstrated skills in provision of family-centred care (Essential)
  • Demonstrated professionalism and interest in self development (Essential)
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Nice To Haves

  • BSCN (Preferred)
  • Previous knowledge/experience with Endocrinology patients (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Deal compassionately with children, youth and their families followed by the Division of Endocrinology, including those with bone fragility, short stature, skeletal dysplasia, and other acute and chronic bone and endocrine conditions.
  • Identify real and potential problems and respond to emergencies by intervening directly or referring to other health care professionals.
  • Provide telephone teaching and counselling of families.
  • Provide extensive teaching of families and other health care professionals.
  • Participate in all clinic activities.
  • Participate in research.
  • Engage in continuous learning to develop expertise in the specialty.
