About The Position

This temporary full-time position (until January 2027) involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individual patients and families, adhering to professional standards, and promoting patient and family wellness. The nurse is accountable for maintaining competence and developing their professional practice.

Requirements

  • Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential)
  • Current CPR Certification (Essential)
  • Minimum 2 years pediatric experience or other appropriate combinations of education and experience, along with the demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position, may be considered in lieu of stated education and experience (Essential)
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential)
  • Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19

  • Bilingual (English/ French) (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for individual patients/families.
  • Effectively uses the nursing process.
  • Practices according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit.
  • Provides appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family to promote or maintain wellness, and to achieve an optimal quality of life.
  • Is accountable for maintaining competence while developing the quality of his/ her professional nursing practice.
