Position Summary In keeping with the mission statement of the hospital and the patient service unit, the nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for individual patients/families. Effectively uses the nursing process Practices according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit Provides appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family to promote or maintain wellness, and to achieve an optimal quality of life Is accountable for maintaining competence while developing the quality of his/ her professional nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential)
  • Current CPR Certification (Essential)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential)
  • Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years pediatric experience or other appropriate combinations of education and experience, along with the demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position, may be considered in lieu of stated education and experience (Preferred)
  • Baccalaureate Degree of Nursing (Preferred)
  • Bilingual (English/ French) (Preferred)
