About The Position

Ajax Building Company is seeking a Regional Safety Manager SkillBridge Intern to support safety operations. The intern will gain experience implementing workplace safety policies and procedures, monitoring safety performance, supporting safety personnel, conducting facility inspections, and helping ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and OSHA requirements. The role also involves supporting safety training, accident and incident investigations, regulatory reporting, and identifying corrective or preventive measures to reduce workplace hazards. Requirements

  • Applicants must be active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 5–10 years of general safety management experience
  • OSHA 30-hour training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, federal, and OSHA requirements
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the safety management system and progress against safety performance standards
  • Lead and provide functional management for safety personnel
  • Plan and implement employee training in worksite safety practices, fire prevention, and proper handling of chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials
  • Inspect facilities for existing or potential accident and health hazards
  • Identify corrective or preventive measures and follow up on implementation
  • Support processes for reporting significant accidents and incidents
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations and reporting
  • Compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual safety performance reports
  • Review accident and incident reports to identify trends and help prevent recurrence
  • Meet regularly with safety personnel to monitor and review safety management
  • Report safety performance at management team meetings
  • Consult and coordinate with the Corporate Safety Director on safety management
