Refinish Technician
About The Position
The Refinish Technician provides an exceptional customer experience by meticulously refinishing vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition. The role thoroughly mixes paint, color matches, and refinishes vehicles while supporting Gerber Collision & Glass’s goals for speed, quality, and customer excellence. The technician works with the team to achieve facility KPIs and represents the Gerber brand. The position is provided with PAPR systems to support a safe and comfortable work environment. Compensation is flat-rate and performance-based, tied to turned (booked) hours, at $23–$32 per hour. If pay-period compensation is below minimum wage, clocked hours are calculated with a guarantee of applicable local or state minimum wage, whichever is greater. Compensation varies with skill, education, and experience. The position may also be eligible for bonuses tied to individual or business initiatives.
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of collision repair experience.
- Ability to properly complete all steps in the refinishing process.
- Above-average quality focus.
- High production capabilities.
Nice To Haves
- I-CAR or ASE certifications.
Responsibilities
- Review body work for quality and completeness as it arrives in the paint department.
- Mix paint, color match, and refinish each vehicle to restore it to pre-accident condition.
- Complete all refinish operations described in the work order.
- Use and maintain paint material inventory efficiently.
- Consistently use required safety equipment and properly dispose of hazardous waste.
- Attend and collaborate with the team during daily production meetings.
- Work with the production schedule and coworkers to meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
