Refinish Technician
About The Position
The Refinish Technician works at Gerber Collision & Glass in Terrell, Texas, and is responsible for refinishing customers’ vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition. The role includes thoroughly mixing paint, matching colors, and completing refinish work to quality standards while contributing to a successful customer experience and the repair facility’s speed, quality, and customer-excellence goals. The technician works with other team members to meet facility KPIs and production deadlines and serves as a Gerber Collision & Glass brand ambassador. PAPR systems are provided to support a safe and comfortable work environment. Compensation is a flat rate of $25.30–$30 per hour, tied to turned or booked hours. If compensation for a pay period falls below the applicable minimum wage, clocked hours are calculated with a guarantee of the applicable local or state minimum wage, whichever is greater. The position may also be eligible for bonuses tied to individual or business initiatives. Compensation is commensurate with location, skill, education, and experience.
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of collision repair experience; the posting also states that 4–5 years minimum of collision auto body repair experience is required.
- Ability to properly complete all steps in the refinishing process.
- Above-average focus on quality.
- High production capabilities.

- I-CAR or ASE certifications.
Responsibilities
- Review body work for quality and completeness when it arrives in the paint department.
- Mix paint, match colors, and refinish each vehicle to restore it to pre-accident condition.
- Complete refinish operations as described in the work order.
- Use and maintain paint material inventory efficiently.
- Use required safety equipment consistently and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
- Attend and collaborate with the team during daily production meetings.
- Coordinate with the production schedule and coworkers to meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
