About The Position

AWARE is seeking a Recreation Therapist to provide services to clients in the Great Falls, Montana region. The role supports adults, children, and families in becoming active members of their communities and pursuing personal growth. The therapist plans and delivers Therapeutic Recreation interventions, evaluates services, and works with clients in assigned locations and regions. The position pays $55,000–$65,000 per year to start and is full-time.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation that meets NCTRC standards.
Completion of an NCTRC-approved internship.

Nice To Haves

CTRS certification at hire is strongly preferred; alternatively, the ability to obtain national CTRS certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Work remotely in the assigned location or region.
Travel by personal or AWARE vehicle to designated cities or regions to meet with clients and provide services.
Use assessment and observational skills.
Plan and implement Therapeutic Recreation interventions to help clients increase independence in lifestyle.
Research and apply evidence-based practices in Therapeutic Recreation.
Design Therapeutic Recreation protocols, session plans, and processes.
Implement interventions suited to each client's age, cultural background, developmental stage, limitations from disabling conditions, skills, and experience level.
Document and evaluate services for efficiency and quality.
