About The Position
AWARE is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Service Technician to support adults, children, and families in becoming active members of their communities while focusing on personal growth. The role provides therapeutic recreation support and promotes positive lifestyle skills in a supportive, inclusive care environment. The position is based in Anaconda, Montana, and pays $19.00–$23.59 per hour to start.
Requirements
- High school diploma or HSE.
- Past employment experience.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Montana Driver’s License.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Acceptable criminal and protective services background check.
Responsibilities
- Work independently in an assigned location or region.
- Travel by personal or AWARE vehicle to clients or service areas.
- Lead and instruct participants in developing life skills.
- Plan and lead recreational activities.
- Implement interventions that account for each client’s age, cultural background, developmental stage, disabilities and limitations, and skill and experience level.
- Model and participate in activities alongside clients to promote positive lifestyle skills.
- Assist the TRPD in creating intervention protocols, including short-term goals and assignment criteria.
- Observe client responses to interventions and communicate and collaborate with the TRPD and treatment team members.
- Document intervention outcomes in the EHR according to policy to support the TRPD’s evaluation of program effectiveness.
- Provide the TRPD with client information at transition or discharge to assist with transition or discharge planning.
