The National Park Service is hiring three Recreation Fee Technicians: two career-seasonal positions and one permanent, full-time position. Career-seasonal appointments are permanent and provide the same benefits as career appointments, but do not offer year-round work. Career-seasonal employees work approximately eight months and are in non-pay status for nine pay periods from mid-October through mid-February. Consideration is limited to the work schedules applicants indicate they are willing to accept. The technician serves as a front-line, uniformed representative of the National Park Service, providing visitor information about recreational opportunities and services. The position supports fee collection and accountability by handling funds according to National Park Service and U.S. Treasury regulations, assisting with audits, reviewing collection reports, preparing remittance reports and bank deposits, and tracking discrepancies. The role may be based at an entrance station, campground office, fee office, remittance office, visitor center, or visitor contact station. Housing may be available. A uniform allowance is provided.
