Recovery Associate (Illinois)
About The Position
The Recovery Associate upholds the store’s general appearance and organization by returning merchandise to the sales floor, keeping shelves stocked, and maintaining a clean and appealing store. The role also includes providing customers with friendly, high-quality service and helping them make informed purchase decisions. Associates complete recovery tasks for assigned departments, follow department merchandising standards, maintain clean bathrooms, and use retail equipment safely. The position involves cross-training and participating in learning initiatives, along with providing prompt and professional support to customers and coworkers. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to interact with a team in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Comfort navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31–50 pounds intermittently.
- Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack.
- Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
- Ability to communicate verbally with others in person and via electronic devices.
- Close vision for computer-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers within a ten-foot radius and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist customers with purchase decisions and provide high-quality customer service.
- Organize, restock, and arrange products for effective displays.
- Maintain knowledge of featured products and their store locations.
- Complete daily recovery processes for assigned departments.
- Keep departments clean and organized, including wiping shelves and sweeping beneath them.
- Follow Indoor Merchandising Guide standards for the relevant department.
- Keep bathrooms clean and well-maintained.
- Follow safety protocols and appropriate material-handling practices.
- Use general office equipment, including telephones, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, and computers.
- Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
- Participate in cross-training for work across departments and responsibilities.
- Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
- Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external contacts, responding to inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
