Recovery Associate (Illinois)
About The Position
The Recovery Associate upholds the store’s general appearance and arrangement by returning merchandise to the sales floor, keeping shelves stocked, and maintaining a clean and appealing presentation. The role also involves delivering high-quality customer service, helping customers make informed purchase decisions, organizing and restocking products, and completing daily recovery for assigned departments. Associates maintain department cleanliness and follow applicable Indoor Merchandising Guide standards, while participating in cross-training and learning initiatives. The position requires safe handling of materials and use of general office equipment and retail equipment.
Requirements
- Ability to interact with a team in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Comfort navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull at least 30 pounds repetitively and 31–50 pounds intermittently.
- Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack.
- Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
- Ability to communicate verbally with others in person and via electronic devices.
- Close vision for computer-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers within a ten-foot radius and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist customers in making informed purchase decisions and provide high-quality customer service.
- Organize, restock, and arrange products for effective displays.
- Maintain knowledge of featured products and their store locations.
- Complete the daily department recovery process for assigned departments.
- Maintain department cleanliness and organization, including wiping shelves and sweeping beneath them.
- Follow Indoor Merchandising Guide standards for the relevant department.
- Keep bathrooms clean and well-maintained.
- Follow safety protocols and best practices for handling materials.
- Use general office equipment, including telephones, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, and computers.
- Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
- Participate in cross-training across departments and responsibilities.
- Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
- Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external customers, responding to inquiries and concerns promptly.
