About The Position

Red White & Blue Thrift is seeking a hardworking, dedicated associate to support its supply chain and store operations. The role involves loading, unloading, organizing, and lifting donated clothing, furniture, and miscellaneous household items. The associate also helps with donation pick-ups and efficiently fills trailers to maximize storage space. This is a physically demanding position requiring teamwork, stamina, adaptability, and the ability to work at a steady pace in a busy environment and in varying weather conditions.

The work environment is consistently busy and noisy, with bright lighting throughout the front and back of the store. The role involves regular interactions with customers, donors, and coworkers, and employees may be asked to switch tasks or work in different areas according to operational needs. Employees are not required to communicate exclusively in English at work, but basic written and spoken English is necessary for understanding instructions, reading street signs, and communicating with customers, donors, and colleagues who primarily use English.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining a steady pace throughout shifts.
• Team-oriented attitude with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Reliability and ability to take direction from supervisors and team leaders.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and carry items short distances.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Visual acuity to read road signs, maps, and operating instructions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling bags and boxes.
• Strong back and abdominal muscles to maintain proper posture while lifting heavy objects.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Good hearing to detect warning signals and communicate with coworkers and supervisors.
• Basic written and spoken English to understand instructions, read street signs, and communicate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and organize clothing, furniture, and other donated household items.
• Fill trailers with donations, stacking and securing items to maximize space and efficiency.
• Assist drivers on donation-pickup routes by loading and securing items.
• Categorize and place items in designated areas to maintain organized inventory.
• Support thrift store operations by responding promptly to operational demands and requests.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and productive work processes.
• Follow direction and complete tasks accurately to support team goals.
• Work in various weather conditions as needed for loading and unloading.
• Switch tasks and work in assigned areas as operational needs require.
