About The Position

Red White & Blue Thrift is seeking a hardworking, dedicated associate to support its supply chain and thrift store operations. This physically demanding role involves loading, unloading, organizing, and lifting donations, including clothing, furniture, and miscellaneous household items. The associate will assist with donation pick-ups and fill trailers efficiently to maximize storage. The position requires teamwork, stamina, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in various weather conditions. Employees may be asked to switch tasks and work in different areas according to operational needs. The role includes regular interactions with customers, donors, and coworkers. A fundamental understanding of written and spoken English is necessary for instructions, road signs, and communication with people who primarily use English.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment and maintain a steady pace throughout shifts.
• Team-oriented attitude and strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Reliability and ability to take direction from supervisors and team leaders.
• Experience using material handling equipment (MHE).
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and carry items short distances.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Visual acuity to read road signs, maps, and operating instructions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling bags and boxes.
• Strong back and abdominal muscles to maintain proper posture while lifting heavy objects.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Good hearing to detect warning signals and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Fundamental understanding of written and spoken English to understand instructions and road signs and communicate verbally and in writing.
• Dependable, punctual, ethical, customer-focused, adaptable, detail-oriented, inclusive, resilient, professional, and able to communicate informally and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and organize clothing, furniture, and other donated household items.
• Fill trailers with donations, stacking and securing items to maximize space and efficiency.
• Assist drivers on donation pick-up routes by loading and securing items.
• Categorize and place items in designated areas to maintain organized inventory.
• Support thrift store operations by responding promptly to demands and requests.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and productive work processes.
• Take direction and complete tasks accurately in support of team goals.
• Work in various weather conditions as needed for loading and unloading.
