About The Position

Red White & Blue Thrift is seeking a hardworking, dedicated associate to support supply chain and store operations. The physically demanding role involves loading, unloading, organizing, and lifting donations including clothing, furniture, and other household items. The associate also assists with donation pick-ups and fills trailers efficiently to maximize storage. Success requires teamwork, stamina, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in varying weather conditions.

The role involves regular interaction with customers, donors, and coworkers. Employees may be asked to switch tasks according to operational needs and are expected to work in assigned areas. Although English-only communication is not required, a fundamental understanding of written and spoken English is necessary for following instructions, reading street signs, and communicating verbally and in writing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment and maintain a steady pace throughout shifts.
• Team-oriented attitude with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Reliability and ability to take direction from supervisors and team leaders.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and carry items for short distances.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Visual acuity to read road signs, maps, and operating instructions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling bags and boxes.
• Strong back and abdominal muscles to maintain proper posture while lifting heavy objects.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Good hearing to detect warning signals and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Fundamental understanding of written and spoken English to comprehend instructions, read street signs, and communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and organize donations such as clothing, furniture, and other household items.
• Fill trailers with donations, stacking and securing items to maximize space and efficiency.
• Assist drivers on donation pick-up routes by loading and securing items.
• Categorize and place items in designated areas to maintain organized inventory.
• Support thrift store operations by responding promptly to demands and requests.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and productive work processes.
• Take direction and complete tasks accurately to support team goals.
• Work in varying weather conditions as needed for loading and unloading.
