About The Position

Reading Corps is hiring Reading Tutors to serve students at local schools during the 2026–27 school year. Tutors help students strengthen their reading skills by delivering proven activities, with training and ongoing coaching provided. Each school day, tutors meet pairs of students for 20-minute reading practice sessions, follow a schedule to serve all assigned students, and help students return to their classrooms between sessions. Tutors encourage students as they develop their reading skills and confidence. Positions run from August 2026 through June 2027. Full-time schedules are 35 hours per week, with fewer hours during weeks with holidays or school release days; part-time options are also available at 25 or 15 hours per week. Hours are during the day and correspond with school start and end times, Monday through Friday, with no weekends. AmeriCorps members have a total service-hour commitment for the program year and may occasionally complete approved service or training outside the school day as needed.
