About The Position

The Ramp Agent plays a vital role in baggage handling and helps ensure safe, efficient, and seamless airport operations. The role involves moving baggage and cargo on and off aircraft and between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities; operating motorized equipment; and interpreting aircraft loading instructions and related documentation. The work is primarily outdoors and requires working in all weather conditions. The listed shift is 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. This is a part-time position.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or six months of prior ramp agent work experience.
• Must pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test.
• Must be capable of safely lifting up to 70 pounds continuously.
• Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no violations over the past five years.
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required airport and customs badges or seals.

• Prior ramp experience.

Responsibilities

• Continuously lift and move up to 70 pounds of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities.
• Bend, stretch, push, pull, stack, and kneel in small, confined locations.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing at work by following provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
