About The Position

This is a travel opportunity for a Radiology Tech specializing in MRI to work in Cumming, GA. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 08/24/2026, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. The role involves weekend coverage, specifically Friday through Sunday, with 12-hour daytime shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The position requires working two major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day) and one minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve). The role is based in a high-volume department and includes breast imaging and general MRI work.

Requirements

  • Active license/credentials required for radiologic technology in Georgia (per state requirements).
  • Certifications: ARRT – Mammography and AHA BLS required.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent MRI experience in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency with Cerner or a comparable EMR system.
  • Ability to work in a hospital environment; capable of weekend schedule and travel for assignment.
  • Must meet all Job Notes requirements, including outside-50-mile candidate rule.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI examinations for ED, inpatients, and outpatients with an average daily patient load of 25–30; ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the exam.
  • Position patients, select coils, and optimize imaging sequences to obtain Diagnostic-quality MRI studies, with attention to breast imaging as part of the breast biopsy workflow.
  • Administer contrast agents per protocol and monitor for adverse reactions; respond to patient needs and safety concerns during imaging.
  • Operate MRI equipment, manage imaging protocols, and document procedures in the Cerner EMR system; maintain image quality and accurate patient records.
  • Support breast imaging and biopsy procedures in collaboration with radiologists; assist with scheduling and coordination as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with ED, inpatient, and outpatient teams to maintain workflow and timely imaging throughput; adhere to safety, infection control, and radiation safety practices.
