About The Position
Under the direct supervision of a registered imaging technologist, the Imaging Student Extern performs imaging-related tasks and procedures learned in class, practiced in the school setting, and demonstrated during clinical rotations at a Tenet Hospital. The role supports imaging procedures and department operations while following established protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies. Requirements
- Be a full-time student in good standing at an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- AHA BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Computer skills, as part of the job involves working on the PACS digital-imaging computer.
Responsibilities
- Assist the technologist with imaging procedures and may position patients for specified X-ray exams according to department protocols and procedures.
- Transport patients as necessary.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety requirements, and environmental standards.
- Work with Radiologists to support smooth department operations.
- Prepare required written documentation recording a patient's history of illness or injury during radiology care.
- Ensure equipment functions properly and work areas remain orderly and clean.
- Check the availability of supplies and accessories needed to perform exams.
- Demonstrate flexibility and organization, and function effectively in stressful situations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested that are within capabilities, with reasonable accommodations.
