About The Position

Valley View Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Radiology Extern to support imaging services and patient care. The role involves performing imaging procedures within applicable scope and standards of practice, assisting with exams across multiple modalities, and helping patients understand and cooperate with their procedures. The extern also performs clerical duties, prepares equipment and supplies, assists with diagnostic exams, and transports patients.

Applicants should be second-year students in a program of discipline. Required credentials include a state-board Radiation Operator license, ARRT within twelve months of graduation, and Basic Life Support (BLS). The position is per diem/PRN.

Requirements

• Be a second-year student in a program of discipline.
• Hold a Radiation Operator license through the state board of radiology.
• Obtain ARRT within twelve months of graduation.
• Have Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Review patient history and physician orders.
• Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exams to support understanding and cooperation.
• Assist with imaging exams in multiple modalities.
• Perform clerical duties and assist with diagnostic exams.
• Prepare equipment and supplies.
• Transport patients.
