About The Position

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a dedicated Radiology Extern 1 to support the radiology department. This PRN role assists technologists with imaging procedures, may position patients for specified X-ray exams according to department protocols and procedures, and transports or escorts patients as necessary. The extern helps maintain department operations by working with radiologists, following departmental standards, and ensuring equipment and exam rooms are ready and clean.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be a full-time student in good standing at an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist technologists with imaging procedures.
• May position patients for specified X-ray exams according to department protocols and procedures.
• Transport or escort patients as necessary.
• Follow departmental policies, procedures, protocols, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety and environmental standards.
• Work with radiologists to support smooth department operations.
• Ensure equipment functions, work areas are clean, and exam rooms and patients are prepared.
