About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a registered imaging technologist, the Imaging Student Extern performs tasks and procedures related to imaging that were learned in class, practiced in school, and demonstrated during clinical rotations at a Tenet Hospital. The role assists with imaging procedures, patient positioning and transport, documentation, and maintaining equipment and work areas.

Requirements

• Be a full-time student in good standing at an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or a recent graduate.
• Hold BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• Computer skills, including experience working with PACS digital imaging computers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the technologist with imaging procedures; position patients for specified X-ray exams according to department protocols and procedures, and transport patients as necessary.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety and environmental standards.
• Work with radiologists to support smooth department operations.
• Prepare written documentation required by department and hospital policies, recording the patient's illness or injury history during radiology care.
• Ensure equipment functions properly and maintain orderly, clean work areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested, within capabilities and with reasonable accommodations.
